এই সেমিস্টারে প্রতি সপ্তাহে আমাদের দুই দিন রুশ ভাষা ক্লাশ হচ্ছে। যদিও সব সাবজেক্ট রুশ ভাষাতেই পড়তে হয়, তবুও এই দুইদিন ক্লাশে যেতে সব বিদেশী ছাত্রদের খুব অনিহা। কারন বোধহয় দুর্বোধ্য রুশ ব্যাকরন। দেশে যখন বাংলা ব্যাকরন পড়তাম, ভাবতাম এরচেয়ে কঠিন কোন বিষয় বুঝি আর নেই। সেই কারনে সেটা ভাল করে শেখা হয়নি। আমার লেখায় অসংখ্য ভুলে ভরা বানান দেখে সেটা সহজেই অনুমেয়। এখন ভিনদেশী ব্যাকরন শিখতে গিয়ে মনে হচ্ছে বরং ভাল করে বাংলা ব্যাকরন শেখাটাই উচিৎ ছিল।
তবে ইউনিভার্সিটি চেষ্টা করে বিদেশি স্টুডেন্টদের যতটা সম্ভব আকর্ষনীয় ভাবে তাদের ভাষা শেখানোর। তাই মাঝে মাঝে আমাদের সভিয়েত আমলের সিনেমা দেখান হয়। এবং শেষে ব্যাখ্যা করতে হয় সিনেমার বিষয়। এখন আমরা বিখ্যাত রুশ লেখক “চেখভ্” এর “দামা স্ সাবাচ্কেয়’’ নামের একটি বই পড়ছি। এই বইটির নামের বাংলায় অনুবাদ দাঁড়ায় “কুকুরসহ ভদ্রমহিলা”। এই গল্পের প্রধান চরিত্র একজন ভদ্রমহিলা যার ছোট্ট একটি সাদা কুকুর আছে। বইটি শেষ করে আমরা এই সিনেমা দেখব। “চেখভ্” এর গল্প লেখার স্টাইল খুবই আকর্ষনীয়। এত পুরোনো লেখক হলেও তাঁর অত্যাধুনিক মনমানসিকতা অবাক করার মত। রুশ ভাষায় রুশ সাহিত্য পড়ার মজাই আলাদা। অনুবাদ করে কোনো ভাষার সাহিত্যরই আসল স্বাদ পাওয়া যায়না।
